An Unforgettable Trip to Beijing

Last summer vacation, I set out on a memorable journey to Beijing with my family, and the visits to the Forbidden City and the Great Wall became the most precious part of my holiday, leaving a lasting impression on me.

Our first stop was the Forbidden City, or the Palace Museum as it’s also called. The moment I stepped inside, I was amazed by its grand beauty. The bright red walls and golden tiles sparkled in the sun, and the delicate carvings on the pillars and beams showed how skillful ancient Chinese craftsmen were. Walking through the great halls like the Hall of Supreme Harmony, I felt as if I had gone back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. I imagined the grand scenes when emperors held important meetings here. Every corner of the Forbidden City is full of interesting historical stories, which made me more interested in Chinese history and culture.

On the next day, we went to the Great Wall. It looks like a huge dragon lying on the mountains. Climbing up the steep steps was tiring, but when I stood on the top and looked around, the wonderful scenery made me forget all the tiredness. The mountains stretched far away, and the Great Wall ran through them. It’s really a great work built by ancient Chinese people. I took a lot of photos to keep this amazing moment. Touching the old bricks of the Great Wall, I felt very proud of our country’s long history and great culture.

This trip to Beijing was not just about seeing beautiful views. It also taught me a lot about history. I love my country more because of it, and I will always remember this unforgettable trip.
